Together, the Stronger Senior Exercise videos are a balanced program for the whole body. Improve Strength, Flexibility, Endurance, and Balance . . . all while sitting in your chair!

All of Anne’s programs are filmed in a classroom setting, giving participants that sense of belonging, that they are not alone in their quest for better health.

 

The Stronger Seniors Pilates Program is designed to help seniors develop strength and enhance their ability to function better in daily life.  Pilates incorporates core exercises to strengthen the back and abdominals, training the body from the inside out.

 

Modified for the chair, the principles of Joseph Pilates, Pilates exercises develop a strong "core," or center of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle.

 

No other exercise system is so gentle to your body while giving it a challenging workout. Since most of the exercises are performed in sitting positions, they are no-impact. Stronger Seniors Pilates and Pilates Resistance Band is so safe, it is used in physical therapy facilities to rehabilitate injuries.

 

Pilates Resistance Band adds resistance to prevent muscle loss and increase bone density, both of which deteriorate as we grow older.  The Resistance Band is included with discs.

 

Stronger Seniors Yoga, modified for the chair was created for Seniors and those with limited mobility.  It incorporates all of the benefits of yoga (a healthier, stronger and more relaxed you), without the risk of injury from hyperextension that some beginning yoga programs can cause.  Participants receive not only the physical aspects of Yoga (postures), but also the more quiet and meditative aspects of breath awareness, good for increasing oxygen intake and for stimulating the relaxation response.

 

Stronger Seniors Yoga lets you tune in to your own body's rhythms, let go of mental stress and muscle tension, and increase flexibility- all at the same time.

Specifically, research shows that yoga helps manage or control anxiety, arthritis, asthma, back pain, blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, headaches, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, stress and other conditions and diseases.


Stronger Seniors Yoga also improves muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina,

reduces stress and tension, boosts self esteem, improves concentration and creativity,
